Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information KaiWithMe handles, why it is used, and the choices available to you when you plan and save trips.

Information we handle

We may handle the following information when you choose to use the relevant features:

  • Account information, including your email address and authentication session.
  • Trip details you submit, such as destinations, duration, traveller counts, interests, preferences, pace, style, and budget.
  • Saved plans, custom trip names, itineraries, and budget estimates stored for your account.
  • Limited technical information needed for security and reliability, such as anonymous request references and rate-limit records.

An unfinished Planner draft may be stored locally in your browser on your device. Generated results are not placed in that local draft. If you use Travel DNA, your current question number and selected answer identifiers may also be stored locally so you can continue the quiz. Travel DNA results are calculated in your browser and are not saved to your account.

If you accept optional experience measurement, KaiWithMe uses a random anonymous tester identifier and a separate session-scoped journey identifier to understand the Travel DNA and planning funnel. Measurement is used for product improvement and is designed for 90-day retention. It does not include your questionnaire answers, trip or Saved Trip content, email, account identity, name, phone number, or advertising identifiers.

How we use information

We use information to provide trip planning, generate itinerary and budget suggestions, maintain your account and saved trips, protect the service from misuse, diagnose unexpected failures, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal information.

AI and service providers

KaiWithMe uses hosting and infrastructure providers, including Vercel and Supabase, to operate the website, authentication, and saved trips. These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

When optional AI itinerary generation is enabled, trip details may be sent to OpenAI to create a suggestion. Inputs are treated as traveller data, not instructions to change system safeguards. KaiWithMe requests that provider-side response storage be disabled. The built-in planner remains available when the AI service is disabled or unavailable.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential authentication cookies to keep signed-in sessions working securely. Planner draft recovery, unfinished Travel DNA quiz continuity, and your optional Measurement preference use browser local storage on your device. If you accept Measurement, a random anonymous tester identifier is stored locally and a Travel DNA journey identifier is stored for the browser session. Travel DNA progress and Measurement identifiers do not include your email, account credentials, or saved trips. We do not currently use advertising cookies. You can clear local progress with the feature's reset action or by clearing this site's browser storage; blocking essential cookies may prevent account features from working.

Retention and your choices

Saved trips remain available until you delete them. Local Planner drafts remain on the device until they are cleared. Unfinished Travel DNA progress remains on the device until the quiz is completed, reset, or site storage is cleared. Authentication and infrastructure providers may retain limited operational records for security and service delivery.

You can review and delete saved trips from your Account. You may also stop using the service or clear its local browser data. For an account or privacy request that cannot be completed in the product, open a support issue without including private information; we can arrange an appropriate follow-up.

KaiWithMe can collect limited anonymous usage data about Travel DNA and trip planning to improve the experience. This measurement does not include your questionnaire answers, trip content, email, or account identity.

You can change this choice here or on the Privacy page. Declining stops future measurement and removes the local measurement identifiers from this browser.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical safeguards, including secure session cookies, access controls, row-level database security, request limits, and restricted logs. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ.

Children and policy updates

KaiWithMe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information should contact us.

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the website when appropriate.

Use of KaiWithMe is also subject to our Terms of Use.
